In 1992, a group of local residents along the Nature Coast in Florida founded a land trust called The Gulf Coast Conservancy, with a mission to protect as many acres of coastal lands as we could. We create a conversation between the landowners and the funding agencies and we keep the negotiations alive as long as all parties are willing to be engaged. Initially, we committed to facilitating the preservation of 3,000 acres - but thus far, we’re celebrating saving almost 15,000 acres, thanks to State buying programs such as Florida Forever.
